Role Overview
Siox Global is looking for a high-energy, detail-oriented Carrier Relations Coordinator to join our fast-growing logistics team. In this role, you won’t just be moving freight; you will be building a network of reliable carrier partners. You are responsible for "covering" loads, negotiating rates to protect margins, and ensuring every shipment is tracked from pickup to delivery.
Key Responsibilities
- Capacity Sourcing: Execute 60–100+ calls daily, balancing:
- Outbound: Proactively "hunting" carriers on load boards and internal databases to cover open lanes.
- Inbound: Fielding high-volume calls from carriers to "close" and lock in equipment at target margins.
- Market Awareness: Maintain a pulse on "hot" and "cold" markets. Use inbound/outbound conversations to gather intelligence on capacity crunches or surplus.
- Negotiation: Negotiate market-competitive rates with carriers to ensure maximum profitability while maintaining service standards.
- Carrier Vetting: Verify carrier authority, insurance, and safety ratings to ensure every partner meets our compliance benchmarks.
- Operational Execution: Issue Rate Confirmations, provide clear dispatch instructions to drivers, and confirm pickup/delivery appointments.
- Track & Trace: Conduct regular "check calls" and utilize tracking software to provide real-time updates to our Sales team and customers.
- Issue Resolution: Act as the first line of defense when issues arise - managing breakdowns, weather delays, and detention claims with a calm, solution-oriented mindset.
Experience & Skills
- Experience: Industry experience or freight brokerage environment is preferred.
- Communication: Elite phone etiquette and the ability to build rapport quickly with drivers and dispatchers.
- Tech-Savvy: Proficiency with TMS platforms and load boards.
- The "Hustle": A "sense of urgency" is non-negotiable. You must thrive in a fast-paced environment where priorities shift by the minute.
- Multitasking: Ability to manage multiple active shipments simultaneously without letting details slip through the cracks.
- Strong understanding of the US market and customer behaviour.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
Language Requirements
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
- Ability to communicate complex analytical findings to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
